Project Objectives/Components

 

  • Development of a national framework for GIS and LIS,
  • Provide a multi disciplinary training for multiple government agencies,
  • Implementation of a National GIS Center including hardware, software, and data,
  • Development of a national land administration plan including – land use, land records, and land information.
  • Development of a national plan for use and dissemination of GIS data to public and private sectors.

Project Tasks

  • Developed a national GIS /LIS meta data standard,
  • Developed a national GIS /LIS Training plan,
  • Developed a national GIS Center , including design, procurement and configuration of all hardware and software requirements
  • Developed a national Policy for data access and use,
  • Developed two pilot GIS applications – Urban application of GIS and an environmental study of protected reef and shore lands in San Salvador Island .
