Project Name | ArcGIS Training for Cebu City GIS Center and AFRIMS
| Beneficiary | Cebu City GIS Center and AFRIMS | Project Site | Cebu City
| Funding Source | Armed Forces Research Institute of Medical Science (AFRIMS) | Implementation Time | April 2009
| Project Objectives/Components | AFRIMS currently has a project in Cebu in collaboration with the Cebu GIS Center. AFRIMS was conducting a demographic and health survey of the population for one specific area of Cebu City and wanted to link the data that had been gathered from each household to the polygon/structure (based on the ortho-rectified map) representing that household. In addition, spatiotemporal analysis is planned to be carried out to assist in the early detection of disease clustering (possible epidemics) from data gathered from the hospitals and clinics in that specific area. AFRIMS required the services of a GIS specialist to conduct ArcGIS training for Cebu GIS Center staff. The objective was to provide a 3-5 day ArcGIS Desktop training course for 10-12 people.
