Project Objectives/Components

The objective of this project was to host a study tour in the Washington, DC and New York metropolitan areas demonstrating how real estate registration is conducted in the United States and to use these resources to apply a real estate registration platform of their own in Azerbaijan, while harnessing the full potential of GIS technologies and identifying their advantages that are unique to real estate registration.

Project Tasks

  • Organized all travel and lodging accommodations in Washington, DC and New York City, NY,
  •  Scheduled a one day visit to the World Bank, located in Washington, DC,
  • Organized a one day visit to the Fairfax County Virginia Circuit Court to meet with the Head of the Land Registration Department, the tax assessor and the land registry and cadastral team,
  • Organized a one day visit to the ESRI office, located in Vienna, Virginia.  There, the delegation met with the Global Affairs Manager and learned about various mapping tools and technologies useful for RERP,
  • Organized a two day attendance of the Property Records Industry Association (PRIA) Winter Conference, specifically the Fraud Prevention Summit, and
  • Organized a one day visit to the Property Assessor's Office, located in New York City, New York.  There, the delegation met the Head of City Register in the Tax Maps Division, as well as the President of the Tax Commission in New York City.
