Project Objectives/Components

ILS is a member of the consortium by Chemonics International that was awarded the Regional and Democracy Initiatives (REDI) IQC by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID).  Through REDI, regional USAID Missions in Lebanon, Yemen, Morocco and Egypt will be able to obtain technical assistance services to implement their strategic objectives in the areas of Democracy and Governance.  The IQC is designed to provide cost-effective access to technical expertise and implementation support to Egyptian and Regional Missions' Strategic Objectives and to better and more quickly address the evolving needs of USAID.  REDI will provide assistance that contributes, but is not limited to:

  • Strengthening the Justice Sector;
  • Strengthening the Legislative Function and Legal Framework;
  • Support Democratic local Government and Decentralization;
  • Promoting and Supporting Credible Election Processes;
  • Strengthening Democratic Political Parties;
  • Strengthening Civil Society;
  • Establishing and Ensuring Media Freedom and Freedom of Information;
  • Promoting and Supporting Anti-Corruption Reforms; and
  • Protecting Human Rights.
ILS will provide technical advisory services under REDI activities in areas related to land administration, property rights and land tenure reform, and land market development.
